Barbara Faith. Desert Song. New York: Silhouette, 1987.
Christy Chambers arrives in Morocco to search for her brother, who has disappeared without a trace
in the desert. The only man who can help her find him is the formidable Hassan Ben Kadiri.
He is a man born and bred in the desert, and looks more like a warrior chief
than a caravan guide.
What starts out as a simple journey turns into an odyssey fraught with danger...but also
burning passion. A dangerous sandstorm
leaves them stranded without food and water, and Christy and Hassan are forced to seek shelter in a
Bedouin camp. Eventually they are able to sneak into Al Mahbas and to attempt to rescue Matt
Chambers.
Through all the drama, Hassan falls deeply in love with Christy and wants her to marry him,
but she is a woman from a completely different world. Will their differences keep them apart,
or can a compromise be made on the strength of their love?
