Book Description

Violet Winspear. Blue Jasmine. New York: Harlequin, 1969.

While staying in the mysterious East, golden-haired Lorna Morel plans to ride alone to the Oasis of Fadna, where her father had once lived in a desert house. Unfortunately, her adventure results in an attempted abduction by a swarthy bearded brute. He is soon confronted by a group of horsemen, immediately aware of the crime he has just committed. The leader, Kasim ben Hussayn, soundly flogs Lorna's kidnapper and then takes her back to his encampment.

Lorna soon becomes a captive of this strikingly handsome Shaikh but finds herself, incredibly, drawn to him. She jumps at the first opportunity to escape, but is trapped in a deadly sandstorm in the middle of the unforgiving desert. Luckily Kasim finds her in time to shelter her from the swirling sand and brings her back to the safety of his tent.

Their undeniable attraction to each other takes a turn when Kasim is summoned to his father's palace. He offers Lorna the choice either to accompany him...or be allowed to resume her old life. Lorna realizes that if she willingly goes with Kasim, there would be no going back...and that she would be bound to him forever.
